In the world today, a plastic plight,
Harming humans, in plain sight.
From bottles, bags, and everyday use,
This modern marvel, now abuse.
Plastic lingers in the air,
Invisible threats everywhere.
Microplastics, we inhale,
A silent poison, telling tale.
Our health at risk, with every breath,
Plastic pollution leads to death.
Cancer, toxins in the food chain,
Our bodies bear the plastic strain.
Oceans filled with plastic waste,
A tragedy, so vast, misplaced.
Marine life chokes, entangled, trapped,
In plastic’s grip, their lives are sapped.
Fishes swallow tiny bits,
Their bellies full, but nothing fits.
From plankton up the food web high,
Plastic in fish, as oceans die.
Landfills grow with plastic heaps,
Into the earth, pollution seeps.
Soil and crops, they’re tainted too,
Plastic poisons all that grew.
Lithosphere’s scars, deep and wide,
From plastic’s burden, we can’t hide.
Our planet groans, its health in sway,
As plastic waste is here to stay.
Hydrosphere, with waters clear,
Now muddied with our plastic fear.
Rivers, lakes, and oceans vast,
All suffering from plastic’s cast.
Animals on land, no escape,
Cows and birds, their fates they shape.
Eating plastic, mistaken treat,
Leads to their death, a bitter feat.
Ecosystems out of sync,
From plastic’s curse, life starts to shrink.
Biodiversity in decline,
Plastic’s damage, a fatal sign.
The balance of nature, disrupted and frail,
Plastic pollution tells a wretched tale.
It’s time to act, to change our ways,
For a cleaner, brighter, future days.
